Biography

Dr. Cate Stern is a developmental psychologist whose research focuses on the intersection of neurodevelopmental disabilities, the use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and peer socialization. Her work explores how children with developmental differences engage with peers, caregivers, and educational systems with the goal of creating more inclusive, evidence-based interventions and aids.

In addition to her research, Stern is committed to mentoring students and fostering inclusive learning environments. Her teaching interests include developmental psychology, disability studies, and human development throughout the lifespan.
