As a healthcare professional with a degree in health science, you’ll examine cultural, sociopolitical, psychological, legal, ethical and economic factors that impact public health – knowledge that bridges the gap between individuals and their wellness, physical and mental health.
Choose a variety of healthcare settings such as hospitals, research laboratories, private medical offices, ambulatory clinics, public health organizations, the insurance industry and government agencies, and become a healthcare advocate.
Health Science Concentrations
Careers in public health include health educator, health sciences officer, health program manager/analyst, health communications specialist, health services manager, environmental scientists, epidemiologist/biostatistician, research assistant and/or disease investigator. This is not an exhaustive list, but these roles are most often found in local, state or federal government organizations, community-based organizations or non-profit organizations. Many graduates of the program also go on to graduate programs in public health, health care administration or health care management.
